On Thursday 27 September Patrizia Moroso will be delivering a speech to architects and interior decorators inside the evocative setting of the Garibaldi Theatre in Palermo.
The event, organised by Your Life Home, the Company’s commercial partner in Sicily, is being held as part of Manifesta 12, a platform for dialogue between art and society in Europe founded in the early 1990s in Amsterdam, for which Moroso is a technical sponsor. Moroso products are in fact being used to fit out and furnish the prestigious Garibaldi Theatre, which will be staging artistic performances, debates and events throughout the festival. In particular the Green light tables by artist Olafur Eliasson and the Impossible Wood and Supernatural chairs by Doshi Levien and Ross Lovegrove respectively will accompany spectators and furnish the rooms in Moroso’s distinctive style and character, transforming the theatre into a dynamic, multi-functional setting.
The meeting with Patrizia Moroso will provide an opportunity for dialogue and reflection. She will give an account of how the Company succeeded in building up a collection of iconic products, which all bear a common hallmark yet preserve the features of their different latitudes and localisms. And how it has managed with courage and determination to reconcile in-depth craftmanship and tailoring expertise with industrial manufacturing processes, identifying a strong element of uniqueness at the point where design, contemporary art and fashion come together.
