From fiber to product: the exciting journey of a textile – Taiwan
On Friday, August 25, 2023, inside the CASA AZZURRA store, a new edition of our workshop “From Fiber to Product” took place.
The event featured a prestigious jury selecting the winner among designers and architects chosen from some of Taiwan’s most prominent studios. The jury for this edition consisted of Michael Lieshout, director of Kvadrat Taiwan&HK, Jasmine Wu, co-founder of Stimlig, and Milly Wu (MMM).
Participants competed in upholstering a miniature version of the iconic Take a Line For a Walk armchair, designed by Alfredo Häberli for Moroso. Take a Line For a Walk presents itself as an enveloping, comfortable, and protective shell for resting, reclining, or seeking refuge from the surrounding environment. From the outside, it appears as a strict geometric order, while inside, there is softness and vibrant colors.
Architects were tasked with creating their personalized miniature version of the Take a Line For a Walk armchair using the extensive range of Kvadrat fabrics. The jury declared Joseph Lee (LeeChen Design) as the winner, who received a full-scale Take a Line For a Walk armchair as a prize, naturally upholstered with Kvadrat fabric.
