Moroso promotes auteur design in Australia
Patrizia Moroso, the Friuli-based firm’s artistic director, is going on a promotional tour of Australia in October. She will visit the Melbourne and Sydney stores run by Moroso’s long-term Australian dealer, Hub, and the new Perth showroom, the fruit of a new partnership with Mobilia.
In Hub’s Melbourne and Sydney showrooms the Australian public will for the first time see Ron Arad’s sculptural sofa, Misfits, accompanied by other designs from Moroso’s collection. Furthermore, to celebrate Patrizia Moroso’s visit to Australia, seven of the top Australian fashion designers collaborated with the company to upholster two iconic Moroso seating designs: Smock, by Patricia Urquiola and Take a Line for a Walk, by Alfredo Häberli. These events are scheduled for Tuesday 5 October in the Melbourne showroom and Tuesday 11 October in Sydney.
On Thursday 6 October Patrizia will be at the National Gallery of Victoria for a talk on art and design, moderated by Simone LeAmon, the gallery’s curator. And on October 10 she will take part in a panel discussion entitled Interrelations about the links between design and architecture, at the Australian Institute of Architects.
Her promotional tour of Australia ends in Perth, where Mobilia has organised a talk entitled Patrizia Moroso: A Conversation, at the State Theatre on Thursday 13 October.
