Tape wins the NYCXDesign awards
Happy to announce that Tape seating system – a Benjamin Hubert project for Moroso – has won the NYCXDesign awards in the “Contract Seating and Benches” category. The NYCxDESIGN Awards is a global design competition celebrating the outstanding products and projects of New York City across major areas of design. The ceremony took place on May 20th at Pier 17 in New York City.
Tape is an innovative product that brings together fashion, technology and sustainability. A modular range of seats and small tables in which polyurethane tape, used for sports clothing, is applied to join together small pieces of fabric, which otherwise would be discarded during upholstering and considered as production waste. The tape is therefore an aesthetic feature of the sofa as well as having an important functional role.
The Tape sofa comprises a series of different “building blocks” – seats, backs and armrests – elements that can be placed together to create ever-varying combinations, adapting the design for both large public spaces and smaller living areas.
